These dogs are known to be VERY loyal to one person. So in general these dogs do well as a “one man dog”.
For those of you who haven’t seen Hachiko – its a dogs story. It is a movie about a dog who is extremely loyal to his owner, Hachiko goes with his owner to the train station every morning, and goes back every afternoon to wait for him. The owner unfortunately died and yet the dog persevered and still sat at the station every single day waiting for his owner. His family tried moving him, but he would simply go back the first chance he got.
The German Shepherd breed have the same nature, they are also known to wait around for their owner to come back – for years and years.

These dogs SHED their FUR ALOT.
So you need to vacuum your home daily
Daily brushing and the right amount of bathing would help this

These dogs live 10-12 years – this is approximately 70-84 years in dog years.
So please just like any other breed, be prepared to have your dog around for that long – or rather don’t get a dog!

These dogs are extremely intelligent.
They are used as sniffer dogs in the police force – they can detect drugs and illegal substances.
These dogs have also been used as guide dogs along with their other well known companion the Labrador.
