So the other day when I was waiting at the vet, I learnt something.
Just like humans, dog too can give blood.
This is a great initiative
This can save another dogs life by donating. If a dog is in need of a blood transfusion then they will have blood available.
There are limits to this; because you don’t want to put your own dogs’ life in danger.
So in South Africa, I know at the vets here – your dog has to weigh 30KG or more in order to donate.
This is purely so that they can handle the blood loss.
So if you have a dog that fits the criteria – consider donating.
