This breed are so curious. They can be so charming, and brave.
They have a great sense of humor, and love to play around.
Along with this, they have an amazing loyalty to their family, ,and are real lap dogs. Sleeping under the covers with you is all they dream about!
These dogs, tend to prefer being with other Dachshunds. More so than other dogs. Saying this, these dogs can be possessive over their toys and do tend to get jealous – seeking your attention. It is best to nip this in the bud at an early stage so that this doesn’t become a bad habit.
These dogs do not like to be alone, and get lonely easily- which could lead to them barking. So it is also best to make sure you take these dogs for enough walks, but remember – these dogs are extremely energetic animals, so the moment you let them off their leash they will run for the chase.
When it comes to children, these dogs aren’t the most patient breed. They don’t like to be pushed around, as they are a proud dog. So be careful with them around small children – as they are known to snap or bite in a stressful situation.
Potty training – When it comes to potty training it could take some time, as these dogs do not like the cold – nor do they like being wet. So this could create some kind of a challenge. Saying this, when these dogs are outside, their natural instinct may kick in – what this means is that the dogs may tend to dig holes in your garden which dates back to their “hunting days”.
