Anyone who has ever owned a dog, I’m sure has seen them bury something you have given them.
Have you ever wondered why your dogs really do this?
Here is why:
They call this behavior “Hoarding”
The first reason for it is that back in the day, burying their food helped other “predators” not steal what was theirs.
What was also so smart about this was that, burying the food also helps preserve the food as its colder under the ground.
Of course, dogs nowadays do have plenty to eat in a household environment, but it simply boils down to – it’s in their blood (So to speak).
