
Why Do Dogs Eat Grass?
So, you may see your dog eating grass – and this may concern you. I will give you some closure.
Know that there are many people who are equally concerned – so you are not alone.
Your pup eating grass could indicate that they have a nutritional deficiency – or it simply mean that they are just bored! Especially a puppy – they get bored and do things like eat grass, just for fun.
But you don’t have to take it to seriously, because this behavior is considered normal.
It is known that wild dogs eat grass too. And studies show that grass is the most commonly eaten “plant”
It is said that a dog will eat grass when they aren’t feeling well, this will help them vomit, and then they will obviously feel better afterwards.
Saying this, its known that not all dogs vomit after eating grass.
Other reasons are said to be – to treat intestinal worms, to help with digestion, nutritional lacking (even including fiber).
Your pup could also just be eating grass just because they simply like how it tastes
If you are bothered by your dog eating grass, and you suspect he may be doing it simply out of boredom, you can distract them with toys and other activities to keep them busy.
You can try feeding your dog better nutritional foods if you suspect its that, that’s the problem. Your vet would be able to do tests to see if your dog is lacking anything.
BUT – it isn’t known for grass eating to be dangerous. So DON’T WORRY.
There is only one thing you should consider – and that’s if you use any pesticides or anything like that on your grass. These could make your dog sick.
